Searching for an apt Custom Header for this blog was a constant headache I need to suffer every fortnight. It was frustrating as free pictures that suit my blog theme and content was hard to come by. Then it struck me that I have been sitting on a pile of such free pics all along. I have quite a collection of photographs that I’ve been shooting for a while and was meaning to start an exclusive photo-blog to publish them.

Well, putting two and two togather, I’ve deceided to use my own snaps as header images for my blog. Click on the About Header Image link to know more about the picture and also I’m providing a link to my flickr account for you to take a look at some of my pics.

Feel free to use these banners. Would appreciate a link back.

A car powered with a wind-turbine on its top!!! Sounds interesting right, no? Well, how about a car with a long sail on top? Still no takers? Okay, these were the suggestions doing rounds on internet forums in response to Totota’s announcement last week.

Toyota has decided to ship its Prius model with Solar Panels on top to power the car’s A/C. And most skeptics are laughing their asses off at this move, saying the panel can’t even power a couple of fans inside a car. Toyota’s claims are considered absurd unless they have developed a truly path-breaking solar technology.

What could dampen the prospects of a solar car? in the developed markets?

  • Predominantly overcast weather and little overhead (perpendicular) sunlight
  • Reduced efficiency due to accumulation of dust/snow

Still, solar-powered roof arrays on cars are not new. Such cars are around since 1985, but aren’t quite popular. Lets see what Toyota dishes out next year.

Commencement Speeches are always such a source of inspiration and awe, especially when its at Harvard and the person on the podium is J K Rowling. The best-selling fantasy weaver unleased her own version of charms on the Harvard grads and profs in an almost hour-long speech.

Don’t miss the video. Its a must watch.

ARR-Chinmayi duo storms through competition to stake claim for this year’s SOTY title. Compared to the peppy “Roobaroo” from Rang De Basanti (winner of SOTY 2006), 2007’s nomination is an authentic soul-stirrer, that grows on you slowly. All the best Rahman and Chinmayi – hope you bring out more such works.
